There is a busy calendar looming for 2020, with four National and North Island Clubs NZ tournaments scheduled. Other tournaments are spread throughout the year, including memorial and cash and the Section endeavours to send players to most of these tournaments. Our own eight inhouse trophy tournaments will be scheduled for either early Tuesday Club nights or Sunday mornings. These are Euchre Singles, Pairs, Drawn Pairs and Six Handed; 500 Singles, Pairs and Drawn Pairs, plus Cribbage Singles, all of which have trophies.

In March, we ran the annual Pre-Easter Cash Tournament which attracted 44 entries. A popular event, with an Easter theme, players encouraged to wear Easter bonnets or headgear to the games. First and second prizes were taken out by players from Papakura Club, with Hamilton WMC coming third..

On 24 November, our very popular Ham 'n Lamb Euchre tournament attracted 60 entries from Kamo to Hamilton. Prizes were spread around, from fifth to first, with a Waiuku player taking out the top prize. As usual it was a good day, with five happy players going home with bags of Christmas goodies.

Inter-Club is played monthly from February to November, between chartered clubs from New Lynn, Avondale, Onehunga, Mangere, Manurewa, Waiuku, Papakura, Waikato and Weymouth.

Our last Inter-Club game was played at Papakura Club in November, with players dressing up in their Christmas finery. A delicious lunch was provided by the restaurant (subsidised by their Cards Section). The club decorated in a Christmas theme by Cards supporters, with Santa even popping up out of a chimney!

Weymouth hosted the Inter-Club AGM on Sunday 12 January 2020 and office bearers remain the same: Sylvia Pauro of Waikato Combined (Convenor/Treasurer), Joe Buhagiar of Avondale RSA (Secretary) and Michelle Romana of Mangere Cosmopolitan Club (Points Recorder). This trio does a great job and were revoted in with acclaim. First Inter-Club games will be at Waiuku CC on 16th February 2020.
